2011 ISI 12&U SCY Champs Highlights

To say ACAC did great at the 12&U Champs wouldn’t do justice to our athletes’ performances! We had a stunning 73% of best times, set 4 ACAC Relay Records and 15 ACAC Individual Records on the road to claiming 5th place overall. Considering the sizes of the teams, our swimmers performed even better, since when dividing the total points by the number of entries, ACAC had the best average, scoring 10.4 points per entry (the only team to average over 10pts/entry)!!! Here are the individual highlights:

Girls 11-12 Relays:

All four ACAC Records for 11-12 Girls relays fell during the meet: The team of Morgan Rosser, Hannah Dietrich, Jazlyn Horras and Gracie Snyder broke both the 200 Freestyle Relay: 1.51.12; the same team also took down the 400 Freestyle Relay: 4:05.41. Jazlyn Horras (Bk), Gracie Snyder (Br), Anna Napolitano (Fl) and Morgan Rosser (Fr) broke the 200 Medley Relay: 2:05.10; for the 400 Medley Relay, Anna and Gracie switched strokes, and another ACAC Record fell: 4:43.57.

James Bentley (Age Group 3): got 9 best times, including 1 new ACAC Record (Boys 9-10, 500 Free: 6:16.75), which is also a new AA time, in addition to 1 AAA time (50 breast) and 4 more new AA times (50 and 200 free, 100 breast, and 200 IM);

Matt Boylan (Age Group 3): got five best times, including 2 new AA times (1000 free and 50 back) and 1 new A time (200 IM);

Hannah Dietrich (Age Group 2): got three best times;

Eli Heginger (Age Group 1): got 1 best time;

Jazlyn Horras (Age Group 3): went 9 for 9 in best times, including 1 new AAA time (50 back), 1 new AA time (100 back) and 6 new A times (500 free, 200 back, 50 and 100 breast, 100 and 200 IM);

Olivia Jenks (Age Group 2): got five best times, including 1 new BB time (50 back);

David Jiang (Age Group 1): got one best time, which is also a new A time (50 breast);

Nicky Lin (Age Group 2): got four best times;

Anna Napolitano (Age Group 3): got three best times;

Morgan Rosser (Age Group 3): got seven best times, including 3 new ACAC Records (Girls 11-12, 500 Free: 5:41.33; 1000 Free: 11:37.94; 200 Fly: 2:36.14), which included 1 new AAA time (1000 Free) and 1 new A time (200 Fly), in addition to 3 other new AA times (200 back, 200 and 400 IM);

Gracie Snyder (Age Group 3): got seven best times, including no less than 6 ACAC Records (Girls 11-12, 200 Free: 2:06.19; 50 Back: 30.14; 50 Fly: 27.61; 100 Fly: 1:06.20; 200 IM: 2:18.80; 400 IM: 5:10.92)!!! Of those, 1 was a new AAAA time (50 fly) and 4 were new AAA times (200 free, 50 back, 100 fly and 200 IM), in addition to 1 more AAA time (100 free);

Sophie Sorenson (Age Group 3): en route to winning High Point honors, went 10 for 10 in best times, including a relay lead-off. Of those, in addition to 1 new AAA time (500 free), 6 were new ACAC Records (Girls 9-10, 50 Free: 29.17; 100 Free: 1:03.79; 50 Fly: 31.36; 100 Fly: 1:11.87; 100 IM: 1:11.99; 200 IM: 2:31.95), which included 2 new AAAA times (50 fly and 200 IM)!!!!

Quentin Strohm (Age Group 1): got one best time;

Zak Strohm (Age Group 3): got six best times, including 3 new A times (100 free, 100 IM and 200 IM);

Molly Winer (Age Group 3): got seven best times, including 3 new A times (100 free, 100 breast, 200 IM).
